🙏 Prayer ministry call scripts

Praying with someone live, by phone, turns a prayer request into real care. The follow-up call a few days later turns it into a relationship.

Who you're calling: people who submitted a prayer request, to pray with them and follow up.

Pray over a request

Hi [Name], this is [Your name] from the prayer team at [Church]. We received your request about [topic], and I wanted to call and actually pray with you, if that's okay. ... [pray with them] ... We'll keep praying through the week. Thank you for letting us.

Follow up on a request

Hi [Name], [Your name] from [Church]. We've been praying about what you shared, and I just wanted to check in. How are things now? ... Thank you for the update. We'll keep praying.

The follow-up call is what turns a prayer line into real care.

Run these calls in Vesperbell

A script is the easy part. Vesperbell is how you actually work the list without losing anyone.

  1. 1 Build the call queue. Pull everyone who submitted a prayer request this week into a queue.
  2. 2 Work the list from the softphone. Each person comes up with their name and recent history, so you're never calling cold.
  3. 3 Log the outcome in one tap. Reached, no answer, or call back later, plus a quick note. "Call back later" drops them back in the queue for the right day.
  4. 4 Let the misses follow themselves up. Set a workflow so a no-answer automatically sends a warm text, so no one slips through.

Common questions

Should you call someone to pray for them?
If they've shared a request and are open to it, yes. Praying live by phone is far more personal than a 'we'll pray for you' text, and the follow-up call days later shows you actually did.
How do we follow up on prayer requests?
Keep a weekly queue of requests, pray with each person, and set a reminder to call back later. In Vesperbell the request and your notes stay on the contact, so the follow-up has context.
